XJ6 Gear Reduction Starter

The new starter sure is a cute little guy! You'd never guess that from the low-angle shots in the ads. But it's nice, it makes it a lot easier to work with. You'll need two 3/8-16 nuts and 3/8 washers to hook it in though, since the mounting plate isn't threaded like on the original. The original bolts have plenty of reach, no worries there.

This is about how the starter is oriented once it's in the car, so the main terminal is in kind of a goofy location... but it's not too hard to hook the wire to it, and it doesn't actually contact the block though it sure seems close.

The white/red wire with the ring terminal needs to have that terminal cut off and a 1/4" female spade terminal soldered on. I also separated the binding of the wires a bit farther up the harness to make it easier for the wires to reach both spots.
